On any given day, there are approximately 415,000 children in foster care in the United States. Many of them do not have a consistent adult in their lives.They are more likely than those in the general population to not finish high school, be unemployed, and be dependent on public assistance. To address this emotional gap, Dr. Toni Heineman founded A Home Within--the only national organization dedicated to meeting the emotional needs of foster youth.
